I go by Masha, which is a diminutive of Maria.
she/her/hers.

I am a tenured physics and astronomy faculty member at Pasadena City College in Los Angeles. I am passionate about inclusive and welcoming teaching and mentorship, and increasing diversity in physics, astrophysics, and astronomy.

Previously, I was a Flatiron Research Fellow at the Center for Computational Astrophysics at the Flatiron Institute in New York City. I got my PhD in physics from Caltech in 2019 and my BA in physics magna cum laude from Princeton in 2014.

My research is in gravitational wave astrophysics, black holes, general relativity, and numerical relativity, and my research papers are available here I am a member of the SXS numerical relativity collaboration.
